The Government highlighted the reduction of isolated communities from 288 to 127 in five states, thanks to the deployment of nearly 9,000 workers and 1,000 machines, with the Armed Forces at the head of the DN-III-E Plan, which reopened 161 roads.

The Mexican Army’s Plan DN-III-E is underway with 8,389 troops mobilized, supported by 21 helicopters to establish essential air bridges in Veracruz, Puebla and Hidalgo. General Ricardo Trevilla Trejo reported the evacuation of 346 people and the distribution of 122,000 food supplies and 230,000 liters of bottled water, prioritizing the supply to 64 of the 84 most vulnerable communities in Hidalgo.

For its part, the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) maintains 4,519 elements deployed in four states, with the support of planes, helicopters and ships. In Poza Rica, Veracruz alone, more than 3,500 elements are working on cleaning and recovery work, with progress that exceeds 60 percent.

Regarding basic services, the National Electricity Commission (CFE) pointed out that the restoration of electricity reaches 95.4 percent in the affected states.

The authorities assured that in the coming days it is expected to recover land communication with most of the remaining localities, although air operations will be maintained to supply communities that are difficult to access.

The rains that occurred between October 6 and 9, with peaks of up to 286 liters per square meter, were caused by the confluence of several weather systems. Semar and other agencies working on the recovery of land routes, it is expected that in the coming days communication will be reestablished with most of the remaining localities, although air support operations will continue to guarantee the supply to the most isolated communities
